Tommo's tribute

A MINUTE'S silence will be held tomorrow at the game between Hinckley United and Fleetwood Town at the Greene King Stadium tomorrow for Keith Alexander who died this week.

Mr Alexander (above) died at the age of 53 after a lifetime in football as manager and player. He began his career with Grimsby Town, Stocksport County, Stamford and Mansfield Town plus he made an international appearance for St Lucia. He was manager of  Lincoln City, Ilkeston Town, Northwich Victoria, Lincoln City, Peterborough United, Macclesfield Town and also had a spell as Director Of Football at Bury.

Manager Dean Thomas said: "I would just like send my sincere thought to Keith' s wife and family.

"I had the pleasure of  playing against and coming up against keith as manager. We both spent years managing in non league football, but I always knew he had the ability to move on and better himself.

"While I still manage a non league club, Keith never lost sight of his roots and has always been at the end of the phone to help, all us managers looking to loan players or give advise. Only last week we were discussing a player.

"I for one will miss Keith and so will the footballing world.
"Our wonderful game has lost another treasure, never to be replaced.

"My families thoughts are with you, as are those of Hinckley United."
