Sky Blues chase Franklin
Mar 8, 2010
HINCKLEY United defender Connor Franklin will play in a trial game for Coventry City tomorrow afternoon.
A number of Football League clubs are aiming to sign up the 22 year-old former Leicester City trainee, with Crewe Alexandra adding their interest at the weekend.
Franklin will play for the Sky Blues second string against Hereford United at Warwick in the game after manager Chris Coleman invited him to play in the match.
Manager Dean Thomas is hoping he will stay with Hinckley United until at least the end of the season - although he will not stand in the player's way, providing any deal is right for the club.
Thomas said: "It's a good opportunity for Connor and I am sure he will go and make the most of it.
"There are a lot of clubs looking at him and I happy for him to go and play in trial games as long as he stays focussed on his football with us."
Due to the Bosman Ruling, Hinckley United can command a fee for Franklin until he is 24 years-old.
